The Eye Captain presents "Jane and Milo in the Afterglow," a 40-minute space-rock operetta that didn't quite want to end.
Born from the spirit of a Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here tribute performance, the band chose to keep the vibe but make it entirely original. What began as a standalone song evolved as pieces were added with each session — instrumental bits connecting what might have been hooky, quirky pop songs on their own. Finally, capped by a string of exactly 17 triumphant E-flat chords, the operetta was complete.
While decidedly NOT a Pink Floyd knock-off, you may notice a nod and a wink here and there. This is a piece you won't hear on the radio or that can be streamed in separate bits without losing its identity.
